Great Value in a Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

We have all heard about cashmere coats, a cashmere v-neck sweater among others and how only the rich people wore them. In the late 1930s, actress Lana Turner wore cashmere and she created a trend. What once was offered only to royalty can now be purchased by anyone who can afford it, but again, it is not cheap.

Cashmere clothing is soft and warm to wear, and if you are lucky enough to own one, you already know this. It is very desirable because of the light-weight material that has a silky feel to it. Wearing a cashmere v-neck sweater just to a movie and dinner can invite compliments.

A common question that is often asked when it comes to cashmere clothing is where do these luxurious garments come from? Cashmere comes from Kashmir goats. What shed off is collected and combed off the goat to produce cashmere yarn, to make clothing such as the cashmere v-neck sweater.

There is a limit as to how many goats are bred for the fur. These goats are typically white, brown and gray but can be dyed any color and is very soft. For example, a cashmere garment that is made from the goat's belly will be expensive as opposed to the goat's fur from legs and back because the quality is less therefore these cashmeres will cost less.

Cashmere is not a piece of clothing that can be tossed in the laundry with the rest of the clothes. It does not matter whether it is a blanket, cardigan, scarf or socks; they need to be washed properly. They need to be taken to the dry cleaners or hand washed depending if it is woven or knitted, either way they are delicate and need special care.

When you finally decide to buy something such as the cashmere v-neck sweater, get some guarantee that it is real. Since you are spending a large amount of money you want what you paid for. There are things to look at such as the tag on the item; it should say 100% cashmere. If you are making an online purchase, be sure the website has a cashmere test report. These can give you some assurance about what you are purchasing.
